During its earnings call, CEO David Zaslav claimed that he wants to convert all major IP into long-term gaming products — ones that rely on an always-on model, in an attempt to drive post-launch monetisation through regular content drop. However, going by past instances like Back 4 Blood and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, this doesn’t seem to be the right path for WB Games.
